Released in 1992 by Caltron Industries, the infamous Caltron 6 in 1 stands as a rare and eccentric relic of the NES library. Originally meant to bridge the gap between expensive licensed cartridges and budget gaming, the game suffered from a disastrous launch. Shortly after its initial production run, the original developer, Active Enterprises, bought back the remaining stock and repurposed the underlying assets into the even more infamous Action 52. Because of this brief release window, original physical copies are exceptionally rare collector's items today. The cartridge houses six distinct, entirely unrelated titles, offering a bizarre variety of micro-adventures spanning sci-fi shoot-'em-ups, platformers, and paddle games, all plagued by erratic physics and notorious difficulty spikes.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The cartridge divides its offerings into six selectable mini-games accessed via a primitive title menu: Cosmic Wrestling, Balloon Monster, Adam & Eve, Porter, Cosmic Guerilla, and Magic Carpet 1001. Each game recycles basic NES tropes with distinct mechanics. For instance, in Adam & Eve, the titular characters must navigate prehistoric platforming hazards by chucking apples at dinosaurs. Porter functions as an unpolished, gravity-defying block-pushing puzzle game, while Cosmic Guerilla borrows heavily from classic fixed shooters like Space Invaders. Character moves across the board are aggressively stiff; jump arcs are unforgivingly rigid, and hit detection is frequently unreliable. Players must rely on trial-and-error memorization rather than fluid reflexes to conquer the unrelenting enemy spawn rates and punishing level designs packed into this single grey cart.
