A cooperative game about keeping an arcade running, for up to 4 players. (inspired by the game Overcooked)

You’ll have to work together as fast as possible to repair broken machines, let customers into the arcade, and staff the snack bar.

To fix an arcade machine, use the A button to:
1. Remove the game’s PCB, and set it down somewhere
2. Have someone pick up the soldering iron and then solder the PCB
3. While that’s happening, someone else should start cleaning out the dirty cabinet
4. Once both are finished, pick up the PCB and put it back in the cabinet.
5. Wait for game to reboot
6. Restart the game

Meanwhile (during day 2 and 3), make sure to keep customers happy!

While it’s playable single player, it’s best with 2-4 players. While playing single player, you can use the B button to switch between characters. Try to keep both characters busy as much as possible!

Overview & History

Developed as an ambitious indie homage to the golden age of coin-op cabinets, *Arkade Rush* was released as a homebrew title for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The storyline drops players into the digital guts of a rogue arcade machine known as the "Central Motherboard," which has been corrupted by a malevolent mainframe virus called Glitch. You control Bit, a plucky, pixelated mascot armed with a modular energy blaster, tasked with purging corrupted sectors across five neon-soaked circuit boards before the system completely flatlines.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Unlike standard linear platformers, *Arkade Rush* blends frantic run-and-gun mechanics with vertical bullet-hell dodging and puzzle-platforming elements. Each level tests your reflexes as you leap over cascading data streams, slide under laser grids, and blast corrupted malware bugs. Bit possesses a diverse arsenal of character moves: a standard rapid-fire pulse, a charged-up plasma beam capable of breaking heavily shielded firewall blocks, and a high-risk dash maneuver that grants brief invulnerability frames. Boss encounters at the end of every sector require players to memorize complex attack patterns, shooting specific core vulnerabilities while dodging chaotic grid projectiles. The 8-bit chiptune soundtrack aggressively pumps up the adrenaline, perfectly matching the relentless pacing of the gameplay.
