Rise and shine, bud! A great day’s ahead, just waiting for you to become the neighborhood’s terror of a paperboy. but it’s a whole new job with double the fun and twice the excitement! That’s right, you’ve now got houses on both sides of the street – which means even more customers’ homes to deliver papers to and non subscribers’ homes to damage. It also means you’ve got to watch out for lots more obstacles and meanies that are out to knock you off your bike! Wreak mischief across the town or do good deeds like saving the baby and stopping the burglar. At the end of the day, hone your skills on the all-new BMX-style test course. Add the new awesome graphics, and you’re in for a rip roaring time on your bike!

Paperboy 2

Overview & History

Released in 1992 by Atari Games and ported to the Sega Game Gear by Tengen, Paperboy 2 is the portable adaptation of the frantic bicycle-delivery sequel. Expanding beyond the original neighborhood, this iteration introduces the Papergirl alongside the classic Paperboy, adding a two-player alternating cooperative mode and a newly designed suburban map featuring treacherous obstacles, roller-skating kids, and aggressive pets.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Players navigate a chaotic suburban street from a 45-degree isometric perspective across a grueling seven-day work week. Unlike the arcade original, the Game Gear version optimizes screen real estate with tighter scrolling and modified obstacle placements. Your primary objective is twofold: successfully deliver newspapers to subscribed "Good" houses while systematically destroying the property of "Bad" houses by shattering windows and breaking lawn ornaments. Character moves include steering left and right, accelerating, braking, and bunny-hopping to clear street hazards like runaway tires, skateboards, and construction pits. Ammunition is limited; players must constantly reload their newspaper satchel by grabbing bundles strewn across the pavement. Missing too many subscribers or crashing your bicycle depletes your precious lives, ultimately leading to a game-over screen if you fail to survive until Sunday evening.

Keyboard Controls
