Developed by Codemasters and published by Virgin Interactive, Psycho Pinball burst onto the Sega Genesis in 1995. Unlike standard simulation-based pinball titles of its era, this cartridge injected a manic, cartoon-fueled personality into the genre, framed around the chaotic escapades of its eccentric host, Trick. Rather than just offering a single static board, the game famously connected its three distinct tables—The Wild West, The Trick, and The Dungeon—via a sprawling overworld mechanism. If a player hit specific targets, the silver ball would literally exit the active playfield and transition into a side-scrolling mini-game or an entirely different themed table, bridging the gap between arcade pinball and platforming exploration.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The core mechanics revolve around mastering physics-defying flippers across multi-tiered layouts packed with dynamic ramps, bumpers, and hidden objectives. Each table boasts its own unique narrative quirks: The Wild West challenges you to trigger train heists, while The Dungeon throws you into a gothic nightmare filled with ghouls and sliding trapdoors.
