Barnaby’s overarching mission is to infiltrate a sprawling, high-tech corporate research facility, disable its nefarious surveillance systems, and liberate his fellow caged animals before the mad scientist purges the laboratory. Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Unlike standard run-and-gun platformers on the platform, *Smart Mouse* heavily emphasizes tactical inventory management and environmental manipulation. Barnaby is not a seasoned warrior, so direct combat with automated security drones, robotic cats, and hazard-leaking pipes requires ingenuity rather than brute force. Throughout the multi-tiered laboratory stages, players must collect microchips, rewire electrical panels, and assemble makeshift gadgets using discarded circuit boards and cheese wedges—which act simultaneously as health restoration and currency. The level design is labyrinthine, featuring vertical shafts, ventilation grates, and security lasers that require precise timing and stealthy navigation to bypass.
