There are over 60 levels in this game, and they’re all crawling with the little varmints! I’ve got my loyal cadets, Bart and Homer Simpson, Sideshow Mel, and Corporal Punishment to guard the rat traps, but I need you to lead the filthy rodents into those traps! Then we blow ’em up! We incinerate ’em! We laser-blast ’em! We electrocute ’em! We Krusterize the little stinkers! Hoo boy! Did I mention the snakes, aliens and flying pigs? Well, watch out for those riffraff! Released in 1992 by Acclaim Entertainment and developed by Fox Software and Audiogenic, *Krusty's Super Fun House* arrived during the height of early '90s *Simpsons* mania. Unlike standard platformers of its era, this Genesis adaptation combines side-scrolling puzzle-solving with a rodent infestation crisis. The storyline finds Krusty the Clown's television studio overrun by hundreds of mutated rats, threatening the launch of his upcoming broadcast. To save his studio's reputation, Krusty enlists the help of Homer, Bart, Lisa, and even Mel to clear the infested rooms. While the Super Nintendo version is well-known, the Sega Genesis iteration delivers crisp 16-bit sprite work, faithful chiptune renditions of classic *Simpsons* musical cues, and tight physics that make navigating the labyrinthine television studio a genuinely unique puzzle experience.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Unlike typical action platformers, Krusty cannot directly jump on enemies to defeat them. Instead, the game plays out as a strategic puzzle-platformer where players must herd rats into designated traps throughout multi-tiered, obstacle-laden levels. Krusty navigates using a pie-throwing mechanic—launching custard pies to stun or distract enemies—while placing various interactive items such as blocks, fans, and springboards to manipulate the rats' predefined walking paths. Levels are divided into distinct zones like the Fun House, Sewers, and Warehouse, featuring password saves, hidden bonus rooms, and time-limit challenges that require precise positioning and forward-thinking logistics.
