Originally developed by Interplay and ported from home computers, this run-and-gun vehicular combat hybrid stands out for its uncompromising difficulty and stark, cyberpunk aesthetic. The narrative casts you as a solitary enforcement officer tasked with tracking down dangerous syndicate bosses operating across lawless freeways and hazard-filled subterranean hideouts, capturing them alive for a court bounty or eliminating them on sight.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Gameplay uniquely alternates between two distinct phases. Phase one is a high-speed vehicular chase sequence viewed from a pseudo-3D perspective reminiscent of *Chase H.Q.*. Here, you steer your heavily armed sports car—the V-Max Interceptor—along a twisting highway, dodging civilian traffic while blasting rogue biker gangs and armored vans with roof-mounted plasma cannons and deploying oil slicks to wipe out tailgaters. Once you catch up to the criminal's vehicle, the game seamlessly transitions into side-scrolling, platforming action inside sprawling multi-level industrial complexes and subterranean lairs. Armed with a standard laser pistol and a devastating smart bomb, your cybernetic cop must leap across bottomless chasms, evade automated security turrets, and blast through hordes of mutated thugs. Character moves include ducking, jumping, and a specialized wrist-mounted grappling tether used to extract vital security data from computer terminals. To maximize your score and upgrade your weaponry, you must apprehend fleeing suspects using a specialized stasis net rather than lethal force, adding a rewarding layer of tactical restraint to the chaotic shooting.
