Description

Windjammers is an elaborated flying disc game with elements of volleyball, handball and the video game Pong. Two characters play against each other in a small closed arena delimited by a goal at each side. A net divides the field in two. Players must throw the disc into the opponent’s goal and score points to win a set.

There are several ways of throwing a disc, determined by the direction the player is pulling down the lever. The disc can ricochet against the lateral walls of the arena; players can use them to confuse the opponent. Another way to score a point is the opponent failing to catch the disc, making it fall on the ground.

Each character has a special move that makes it more difficult for the opponent to catch the disc.
There are six different courts, each with its own characteristics: Beach, Lawn, Tiled, Concrete, Clay and Stadium.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Windjammers pits two international athletes against each other in a frantic best-of-three set battle. Players choose from a diverse, six-character roster—including the towering American powerhouse Steve Miller, the agile Brit Gary Scott, and the balanced Japanese veteran M. Disc—each boasting distinct speed and power attributes. The core objective is simple: hurl a heavy flying disc past your opponent's baseline or into designated scoring zones (3 points for the corners, 5 points for the center net). However, the depth lies in the physics and maneuverability. Players can slide across the court to intercept the disc, curve their throws by spinning the directional pad before release, and unleash devastating character-specific Super Shots that zigzag or accelerate unpredictably. Rallies often escalate into lightning-fast, high-tension exchanges requiring razor-sharp reflexes, split-second positioning, and tactical mind games to break your opponent's defense.
