Warhawk is an action/simulation game built around a futuristic VTOL craft. The player maneuvers with 360 degrees of flight control through 6 unique levels.

Take to the skies over desert and volcanic planets, through ancient castles and towers, and against massive airships in WarHawk. As a member of the Strikeforce Omicron, your goal is to wipe out the aggressive forces of Kreel. You will have complete 360 degree movement over large 3D worlds as you evade or attack in any direction: reverse, bank left or right, dive, barrel-roll, perform loops or even use the Immelmann turn to blast enemies out of the sky.

Released in 1986 by Leland Corporation, *Warhawk* is a quintessential vertical-scrolling arcade shoot 'em up that challenged players to pilot an advanced experimental fighter jet deep behind enemy lines. Unlike the passive cosmic backdrops of its contemporaries, *Warhawk* grounded its conflict in a gritty, high-tech terrestrial war. Players fought through heavily fortified military bases, dense jungles, and oceanic strongholds, battling waves of synchronized enemy squadrons, armored tanks, and colossal mechanized boss units at the end of each sector.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The game distinguishes itself through a distinct altitude and speed mechanic, allowing the jet to accelerate into high-speed flight or decelerate to navigate tight corridors. Players collect specialized power-up icons that alter the jet's weaponry, cycling through devastating spread bombs, piercing lasers, and heat-seeking missiles. Survival requires careful positioning and bullet-hell evasion, as enemy fire fills the screen. The scoring system rewards aggressive play and precise target elimination, encouraging players to master enemy spawn patterns across its relentless difficulty curve.
