Grit your teeth and prepare yourself for racing; RC style! RC de GO is composed of 4 modes of play: Practice, Quick Race, Championship, and Time Attack. The practice mode is a tutorial that takes you through the controls of your RC car in a step-to-step course. After you’ve gone through the basics, you’ll attempt a practice race.

RC de GO!

Overview & History

Released by Taito in 1999 for the Taito G-Net arcade system, *RC de GO!* is a quirky, high-octane racing game that simulates the frantic hobby of radio-controlled car racing. Eschewing traditional licensed supercars, Taito’s arcade cabinet put players behind the transmitters of nimble, miniature electric buggies and monster trucks. Unlike its PlayStation console counterpart released around the same time, the arcade original focused on hyper-competitive, quarter-munching time trials and multiplayer showdowns across imaginative, oversized environments like sun-drenched beaches, domestic living rooms, and bustling construction sites. It carved a unique niche by combining precise, physics-based handling with the whimsical aesthetic of a backyard championship.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The core of *RC de GO!* revolves around mastering the distinct perspective and physics of controlling a remote-controlled vehicle from a third-person, trailing-camera viewpoint. Players must navigate treacherous tracks littered with everyday obstacles such as soda cans, wooden blocks, and ramp structures that launch the buggies into chaotic mid-air flips. A key gameplay mechanic is managing momentum and battery heat; over-revving or crashing excessively slows your vehicle down. The game features multiple difficulty tiers and vehicle classes, ranging from nimble on-road touring cars to heavy-duty off-road monster trucks with massive suspension travel, each requiring a completely different approach to cornering and drift control.
