Description

Remember BMXing? Well, it’s back to excite us once more. No longer a poor relation to trendy skating, BMXing has evolved, and Dave Mirra is its world champion.

This game features 10 pro bikers and 12 different environments. You’ll be amazed at some of the tricks the guys in this game can pull off – they seem to defy gravity. Watch in wonder as your biker flies through the air in a range of spectacular stunts, working your way up higher levels to end at Woodward, Dave’s own park.

With appeal for bikers and skateboarders alike, this game is biking at its bumpy best!

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX

Released in arcades by Sega in 2001, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX brought the high-flying adrenaline of extreme sports directly to amusement centers. Developed in collaboration with the legendary Dave "The Miracle Boy" Mirra, this unique arcade adaptation stood out from its home console counterparts by utilizing a custom cabinet equipped with physical, rotating BMX handlebars. Free from a complex narrative, the game captures the pure ambition of an aspiring rider. Players select from a prestigious roster of real-world pros—including Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, and Leigh Ramsdell—striving to dominate local parks, secure coveted corporate sponsorships, and cement their legacy as the ultimate BMX champion.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics center on timed, high-score runs across diverse environments like the iconic Woodward Camp and muddy backyard dirt tracks. Players must master momentum and gravity; pumping transitions on halfpipes allows riders to launch high into the sky to execute extreme aerial stunts. The game features an expansive trick list, including the "Tailwhip," "Superman," "Barspin," and Mirra's signature "Double Backflip." Points are maximized by chaining tricks into massive combos and safely grinding rails or coping edges. Executing a perfect landing is essential, as crashing drastically depletes your limited run timer and resets your multiplier.

Keyboard Controls
