Originally titled Clock Tower II, this game is a sequel to Clock Tower. You must stop a disfigured mass murderer named Scissorman who has been terrorising the citizens of Norway in this full 3D point and click adventure, but watch out: Scissorman will be after you!

The game is spread across three scenarios (including a prologue at the start). Through the course of the game, people are being killed one by one by the notorious Scissorman. Once Scissorman shows up, you will have to find a hiding place or something to knock the Scissorman out with. Between levels, there is also an intermission in which the player can take a look around the town before going onto the next level.

Released in 1997 by Human Entertainment, *Clock Tower* for the arcade (utilizing the SNES-based ZN-1 hardware platform) is a rare spin-off of the famous survival-horror franchise. Unlike the point-and-click console originals, this arcade iteration transforms the psychological dread of Jennifer Simpson's plight into a fast-paced, side-scrolling action-horror experience. Players must navigate the gothic, labyrinthine halls of the Barrows mansion while fleeing the relentless pursuit of the scissor-wielding Scissorman. The game blends haunting pre-rendered background aesthetics with urgent, coin-op survival mechanics.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Unlike standard beat-'em-ups, direct combat is rarely an option; instead, players must rely on environmental hazards, quick reflexes, and strategic item collection to survive encounters. You control characters like Jennifer or Edward, managing a stamina meter that depletes when running from the killer. Throughout the stages, players search desks and paintings for keys, holy water, and defensive traps to stun Scissorman temporarily. Failure to escape results in gruesome, uniquely animated death sequences, forcing a swift coin-insertion to continue the nightmare before the countdown timer hits zero.
