Once again, the Strikers are called into action.

Strikers 1945 II

Overview & History

Released in 1997 by Psikyo, Strikers 1945 II is a legendary vertically scrolling arcade shoot 'em up and the direct sequel to the original 1945 hit. Set immediately after the fall of a mysterious post-WWII syndicate known as C.A.N.Y., the game thrusts players into a brand-new global crisis against the Syndicate F.G.R., a rogue faction utilizing futuristic, mecha-hybrid military technology. Departing from strict historical accuracy, the game brilliantly escalates into sci-fi territory as players battle airborne fortresses, walking tanks, and transforming robotic bosses across eight intense stages.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Strikers 1945 II refines the classic arcade shmup formula with high-speed bullet hell patterns and a roster of six distinct real-world-inspired fighter planes, including the P-38 Lightning, Shinden, and the iconic Spitfire. Each aircraft boasts a unique primary weapon, a fast-charging sub-weapon option, and a devastating screen-clearing bomb attack. However, the standout mechanic is the tactical transformation feature: holding the shot button allows your aircraft to morph temporarily into a powerful robotic walker or futuristic jet, granting brief invincibility and massive localized firepower at the cost of movement speed. Players can also collect power-up medals, speed-boosting power icons, and gold bars to maximize their end-of-level score. The difficulty dynamically scales based on player performance, ensuring a relentless arcade challenge whether playing solo or in cooperative two-player mode.
