Set in a bleak, dystopian near-future overrun by supernatural terrors—vampires, werewolves, mummies, and mad scientists—the game drops players into a global apocalypse where science and the occult have merged into an undead nightmare. Each character possesses a standard three-hit combo, a powerful jumping aerial attack, and a health-draining "megabomb" special move that clears the screen of surrounding ghouls. A standout mechanic is the grab system, which allows players to not only throw enemies across the screen but also execute context-sensitive brutal execution moves, such as slamming zombies into the pavement or ripping them apart. Furthermore, the game features a dynamic combo-extension system where timing your strikes prevents enemies from breaking out of your stun locks.
