Mazinger-Z is a 2D vertical scrolling shooter, based on manga and anime with mechas (giant Japanese robots) “Mazinger-Z”. The player can choose one from 3 mechas from various series: Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, and Grendizer.

The game has straightforward gameplay – just fly forward and shoot enemies. The player can use 3 attacks – normal shot, energy whip (for close combat), and limited special attack. At the end of each level,a large boss awaits for players. Game has standard co-op for 2 players.

The core loop involves advancing through linear stages while demolishing waves of foot-soldier robots before facing screen-filling boss monsters like Koji Kabuto's mechanical nemeses. Combat is divided into standard physical strikes (punches, kicks, and throws) and an energy-based Super Attack system. As players defeat enemies or sustain damage, a special gauge fills, allowing them to unleash devastating signature moves unique to each machine. Mazinger Z can deploy his iconic **Breast Fire** (a scorching thermal beam from his chest plates) or fire his **Rust Hurricane** to melt armor. Great Mazinger wields the massive **Thunder Break**, calling down lightning from the heavens, while Grendizer utilizes his spinning **Harken** blades. Strategic positioning is essential, as environmental hazards and swarming aerial units demand careful timing of jumps, dashes, and melee combos to survive the mechanical onslaught.
