Developed by Ketchapp and released in 2017, Dunk Shot is a minimalist, physics-based vertical arcade game that redefined casual mobile and browser-based sports gaming. Eschewing traditional narratives, the game immerses players in a perpetual endless-ascent challenge where the sole objective is to climb higher by launching a glowing basketball through an ascending series of hanging hoops. As players progress, the environment subtly shifts from a bright indoor gymnasium to vibrant, neon-lit nighttime backdrops, creating a hypnotic visual rhythm. Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Dunk Shot relies entirely on a precision slingshot mechanic. Players must click, drag, and release the basketball to propel it upward from hoop to hoop. Success demands careful calculation of trajectory, velocity, and wall-rebound angles, especially as hoops begin to move horizontally, oscillate vertically, or feature rotating shields. Hitting the backboard or executing a clean 'swish' directly through the center of the net yields bonus points and extends a glowing combo multiplier. Along the vertical climb, players collect hidden stars used to unlock uniquely skinned balls, ranging from classic leather to glowing neon orbs and planets. Missing a shot and letting the ball fall to the bottom of the screen results in an immediate game over.
