The game screen is split, top and bottom. It is a 3d view looking at your own player from behind. Player one sees themselves on the top screen and sees the opponent in the distance. The lower screen shows the game from the computer or player two point of view.

One to three balls will begin in the center of the playfield. When it comes toward you, get in front of it to kick it towards your opponent. If it is up high, press your jump button to jump up and hit it.

Goalie Ghost

Overview & History

Released during the golden age of flash-based arcade curiosities, Goalie Ghost reimagines hockey as a supernatural duel in the net. Developed as a high-octane indie sports title, the game drops players into the skates of a restless phantom tasked with defending the goal line against an onslaught of otherworldly shooters. Departing from traditional simulation hockey, this arcade gem blends fast-paced goaltending reflexes with eerie, gothic aesthetics, earning a cult following among retro browser-gaming enthusiasts who craved quick, skill-based challenges.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

Unlike standard sports games where you control an entire roster, Goalie Ghost locks your perspective squarely inside the crease. The storyline casts you as a spectral guardian defending your team's honor across increasingly difficult playoff tiers against demonic strikers and ghostly skaters. The core mechanic relies heavily on split-second reaction times and spatial awareness. Players must track erratic puck trajectories that curve, accelerate, and vanish mid-air due to supernatural interference. As you progress, you unlock special defensive moves, such as the 'Phantom Slap' to swat away high-velocity shots and the 'Ethereal Dash' which grants temporary invulnerability to block barrages. Power-ups spawn randomly on the ice, offering temporary net expansion or time-dilation effects to survive the brutal final-boss shootouts.
