Description
The worshippers of the nazis devised an evil scheme to regain the power of the once invincible third reich, and to accomplish their predecessors’ unfulfilled dream to rule the whole world under the nazis regime.
In order to do this, these nazi followers developed the most destructive weapon ever built, a cyborg called “Sell”, and put the world into chaos and misery….
Upon this, all the brave heroes from all different nations got together to come up with a way to terminate that evil machine once and for all..
Of them, the mightest one took this mission upon himself…. Although it seemed almost impossible to win or even survive this war.. Now the battle between the good and the evil begins…
Jang Pung 3
Overview & History
Released exclusively for the Sega Master System in South Korea by Samsung in 1994, Jang Pung 3 (often titled General Tigre 3 or known regionally as *Jang-Pung* meaning "Palm Wind") represents a fascinating chapter in 8-bit fighting game history. Developed long after Sega had shifted its primary focus to the Genesis/Mega Drive in Western markets, this unauthorized yet impressive regional sequel capitalized on the enduring popularity of Capcom’s Street Fighter II. Borrowing heavily from digitized sprites, sound effects, and character archetypes of 16-bit fighting giants—most notably Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile—the game stands as a technical marvel for pushing the aging Z80 processor and TMS9918 display architecture of the Master System to its absolute limits, delivering surprisingly fluid animations and multi-layered background stages.
Gameplay Features & Mechanics
Jang Pung 3 departs from standard beat-'em-up templates by offering a robust one-on-one tournament structure complete with special move inputs, super meters, and diverse regional combatants. Players choose from a roster of distinct martial artists, each sporting classic projectile ("jang pung") attacks, soaring dragon punches, and rapid-fire kicks executed via directional half-circles and button presses. Combat feels remarkably responsive for an 8-bit title, featuring a three-button layout (or clever two-button combinations for punches and kicks) that allows for crouching, blocking, and sweeping. The single-player arcade ladder pits you against increasingly aggressive AI opponents across dynamically scrolling stages, accompanied by surprisingly crisp digitized vocal grunts and chiptune battle themes that faithfully mimic the arcade atmosphere of the early '90s.
Keyboard Controls
