Instead of traversing manicured country clubs, players guide a lone, determined golf ball through bizarre environments featuring conveyor belts, teleportation pads, and wandering mechanical enemies. The core objective of Putt & Putter is simple: sink the ball into the cup within a strict time limit and a maximum stroke allowance. However, navigating the game's nine themed courses requires far more than straight-line aiming. Players must contend with dynamic obstacles such as moving platforms, springboards that launch the ball across the screen, and magnetized zones. A standout mechanic is the ability to adjust shot power using a rapidly oscillating power gauge, where timing is everything. Furthermore, players can collect clocks scattered across the terrain to add precious seconds to the countdown timer, or gather bonus points and power-ups that temporarily freeze hazards or alter the ball's physics. The level design cleverly evolves from straightforward putting greens into complex maze-like labyrinths, demanding both strategic route planning and twitch-reaction execution.
