Revenge is sweet… and you’re out to get it. You’ve been “had” at Porky’s, and you’re out to blow it away. The action’s hot and heavy and it’s up to you to keep Pee Wee on his toes. If he succumbs to distraction, it’s the pits! It’s more fun than a greased pig… it’s a blast!

Porky's

Overview & History

Released in 1983 by Dunhill Electronics and published for the ColecoVision by CBS Electronics, Porky's is a daring home console adaptation of the raunchy, youth-oriented 1982 teen comedy film. Setting out to capture the rebellious, mischievous spirit of Angel Beach High, the game tasks players with infiltrating the infamous swamp-bound nightclub owned by the corrupt Sheriff Bechard and the titular Porky. While Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 versions were also developed, the ColecoVision iteration strived to deliver sharper, more colorful graphics that closely mirrored the multi-staged movie plot. Instead of a traditional linear platformer, the game is structured as an eclectic assortment of distinct minigames. You control the wisecracking protagonist, Pee Wee, as he navigates a series of escalating, slapstick challenges designed to humiliate the adults and dismantle Porky's establishment, all culminating in a climactic showdown where players must literally blow the sleazy roadhouse sky-high.

Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The gameplay of Porky's is divided into four sequential screens, each testing entirely different reflexes and skills. In the first stage, Pee Wee must expertly scale a locker room wall while avoiding descending buckets of water dropped by the antagonistic Miss Balbricker, timing his jumps precisely to reach the top. Stage two shifts to a carnival-style duck-shoot in the men's room, where players aim a crosshair to flush out peeping peers before time runs out. The third stage transitions to the swamp exterior, requiring Pee Wee to pole-vault across treacherous bogs populated by snapping alligators. Finally, the fourth stage places players beneath the floorboards of Porky's club, where they must plant explosive charges while avoiding rolling barrels. Success demands mastering the unique physics of each screen, transforming a standard movie tie-in into a surprisingly frantic arcade puzzle experience that tests both timing and spatial awareness.
