The storyline casts the player as a stranded astronaut marooned on a hostile, cavernous alien moon, tasked with rescuing fellow astronauts who have been captured by grotesque, one-eyed, tentacled creatures known as "Leepers." Gameplay Features & Mechanics

The gameplay of Lunar Leeper is divided into two alternating stages. In the first phase, you pilot a rescue ship across the bumpy lunar terrain, dodging aggressive alien missiles and hostile flying saucers while trying to land precisely on designated launch pads. Once successfully landed, the game shifts to its signature second phase: an intimate, gravity-defying rescue mission inside the alien caverns. Your astronaut must leap, jetpack, and dodge bouncing lethal spores to reach the cages where captive humans are held. To succeed, you must grab a captive and safely carry them back up to your waiting ship while avoiding the patrolling Leeper monsters that drop from the ceiling. Timing your jumps and managing vertical momentum are crucial, as a single collision with a wandering alien or a miscalculated fall instantly costs a precious life, escalating the tension with every successfully rescued astronaut.
